Why every rival figure carries a range and a date

A range, because it is an estimate

You see who bids against you. You do not see what they spend. Vickrey estimates each named rival’s spend from your own account, so every rival figure is an estimate, and every estimate is shown with its range: about 1,031 USD a day, range 991 to 1,071, on Talara Air.

Your own spend is not an estimate. It is read from Google Ads and shown without a range.

A date, because data arrives late

Every page says how fresh its data is, and a day with no figure says why, in a line beside it.

When the data cannot answer

Where your data cannot answer, Vickrey says so instead of filling the gap.

Accuracy results, with their error, will be published as pilots complete. Until then this blog carries no accuracy figure.
